Scaffolding contractors in Essex for builders and trades
Most of what we put up is for another firm's job. If you are a building contractor, loft conversion company, roofer, renderer or small developer working in Southend-on-Sea or across Essex, this is how we fit round your programme. One contact, one crew, a tag your crew can sign on to.

One contact for the whole programme
Our surveyor surveys the job and prices it. They are the person you ring for the erect date, for every adaptation, for the re-inspection after the wind, and for the strike. The number on the tag reaches our surveyor directly. There is no sales desk and no version of events where the surveyor said one thing and the crew turned up expecting another.
That matters most on a programme with several drops. A loft conversion needs the rear elevation up before the roof comes off, a loading bay when the steels are due, and a top lift once the dormer is framed. Each is a call to the same person, who already knows the job.
Adapted as the job changes
A scaffold that cannot change gets in the way. We plan the likely adaptations at survey and price them in, so a lift moved or a loading bay added is not a fresh negotiation. Where the job goes somewhere neither of us expected, ring and we come out.
Only our crew alters our scaffold. Every adaptation is re-inspected and the tag updated before your crew goes back on.
Handover and tagging
When the scaffold is complete we inspect it and hand it over to your site lead. The inspection tag goes on the standard at the access point, green, dated and signed.
While it is up, the Work at Height Regulations 2005 require a competent person to inspect the scaffold before first use, after any alteration, after any event likely to affect its stability, and at intervals not exceeding seven days. Our handover tag covers the erect, and we inspect and re-tag after each adaptation we make. The seven-day inspection sits with the employer or the person in control of the work at height. Details on how it works.

That card is our word that the scaffold was inspected and found fit for use as built on that date.

Working alongside your programme
You tell us the date you need the scaffold up and the date you expect to be off it. We work to those dates and tell you early if anything on our side moves. In return we ask for a survey before you need a price, notice when an adaptation is due, and a call when the job is finished so the strike does not hold up the next trade.
We do not run a price list because a scaffold priced without a survey is a guess, and the guess turns into a variation on your job. One survey, one figure, covering the erect, the agreed hire, the planned adaptations and the dismantle.
Small sites
Our ceiling is the small site. Up to about 15 houses, one street or one cul-de-sac, where the developer wants one scaffolding firm across every plot and a number that gets answered. We do not chase high-rise or commercial frames. We put up the same scaffold on plot 12 that we put up on plot 1. If your job is bigger than that, say so at the first call and we will tell you straight.
Where we work
Southend-on-Sea and the SS, CM and RM postcodes across south and mid Essex, including Southend-on-Sea, Leigh-on-Sea, Rayleigh, Basildon, Chelmsford, Brentwood, Upminster and Grays. The full list is on the areas page. Each service has its own page under services: roofing, loft conversions, extensions and new build, painting and rendering.
